This project is funded through the NSW Government, Department of Regional NSW $5175 - a collaboration between Koori Colours Art Gallery, Well Education and Tomaree Neighbourhood Centre.
The four week Youth Art & Cultural Workshop is facilitated by talented Worimi artist Jason Russell (artwork pictured above), and will be held on March 6th - 27th at Tanilba Bay.
The program provides a free and culturally safe activity for youth, in Tanilba bay - a socially isolated area.
The aim of the program, is to provide a culturally safe environment, to connect with culture through the provision of art and story. Participants of the workshop will be guided by Worimi artist Jason Russell to create their own stories on Bodyboards.
The Program has a second component - a Well-being and Resilience Yarn with Laura Collinson from Well Education. Laura is a highly experienced primary school teacher with focused expertise in the area of social and emotional learning.
