Card Making For Carers

Updated: Nov 7, 2023

The Indigenous Card Making for Carers Workshop was held on October 17th 2023, at Tanilba Bay in celebration of Carers Week. The program was funded by Carers NSW ($300.00)

The funding was for the provision of an Indigenous Card Making Workshop facilitated by award winning artist Jason Russell from Koori Colours Art Gallery.

The program had a 100% success in providing participants with a valuable opportunity to establish connections with fellow carers within the community.

Jason Russell guided participants to create beautiful artworks on cards. The workshop provided a positive and inclusive atmosphere for Carers to connect with other Carers and take some time out for their own well-being. The workshop assisted in building friendships and reducing social isolation, through the sharing of culture.

The program was delivered on schedule and, all objectives were achieved. Remarkably, every single participant expressed that the workshop provided them with a valuable opportunity to establish connections with fellow carers within the community. Furthermore,

an impressive 93% of participants reported that the workshop had a positive impact on their overall well-being, further highlighting its effectiveness and significance.

It was a pleasure to work in collaboration with Koori Colours Art Gallery on this community project in celebration of the wonderful Carers in the Port Stephens community.
